The Duke’s palace.

  1. Enter Duke Frederick with Lords.

Duke Frederick

1 - 3
  1. Can it be possible that no man saw them?
  2. It cannot be. Some villains of my court
  3. Are of consent and sufferance in this.

First Lord at Court

4 - 7
  1. I cannot hear of any that did see her.
  2. The ladies, her attendants of her chamber,
  3. Saw her a-bed, and in the morning early
  4. They found the bed untreasur’d of their mistress.

Second Lord at Court

8 - 16
  1. My lord, the roynish clown, at whom so oft
  2. Your Grace was wont to laugh, is also missing.
  3. Hisperia, the princess’ gentlewoman,
  4. Confesses that she secretly o’erheard
  5. Your daughter and her cousin much commend
  6. The parts and graces of the wrestler
  7. That did but lately foil the sinowy Charles,
  8. And she believes, where ever they are gone,
  9. That youth is surely in their company.

Duke Frederick

17 - 21
  1. Send to his brother; fetch that gallant hither.
  2. If he be absent, bring his brother to me;
  3. I’ll make him find him. Do this suddenly;
  4. And let not search and inquisition quail
  5. To bring again these foolish runaways.
  1. Exeunt.
